Accidents at work and occupational illnesses: revaluation of pensions (1 April 2024)

Ministerial Decree no. 2024-197 of 11 April 2024 (JDM no. 8691 of 19 avril 2024) increases the value of pensions paid in compensation for accidents at work and occupational diseases resulting in death or permanent disability of at least 10%, with effect from 1 April 2024.

¤ Ministerial Decree no. 2024-197 sets the revaluation coefficient for pensions awarded in compensation for accidents at work and occupational diseases resulting in the death of the victim (to the rightful claimants) or a permanent disability equal to at least 10% (to the victim) at 1.056 as of 1 April 2024.

¤ The annuity payable to the victim of an accident at work or occupational disease with a permanent disability equal to or greater than 10%, or to the rightful claimants of the deceased victim, is calculated on the basis of the victim's annual salary and on the basis of the minimum annual salary set by Ministerial Order no. 2024-197 at €25,267.43 as from 1 April 2024.

¤ If the permanent disability is total and obliges the victim to have the assistance of a third party to carry out the ordinary acts of life, the amount of the annuity calculated is increased by 40%. Ministerial Order no. 2024-197 raises the minimum amount of this increase to €18,313.27 with effect from 1 April 2024.
